“What I love most is seeing dogs and their humans start to truly understand each other.”
- Lexi Beermann
Lexi Beermann is a fourth-generation dog trainer, following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, who was a professional trainer and performer with his own Vaudeville show featuring four standard poodles. Her path feels both inherited and innate, passed down through generations and even written in the stars.
Lexi has always had a natural gift with animals, especially dogs. Since childhood, she’s been drawn to dogs, and they seem to feel the same way. They form quick, deep connections that go beyond words. She’s long felt a soul-level understanding of what dogs need, as if she can see straight into their hearts. Combined with her keen ability to analyze behavior, this intuitive sense is the foundation of her entire training approach. It’s not just about teaching skills; it’s about helping people truly understand their dogs. Lexi helps dogs and their people communicate more clearly, trust each other more deeply, and build lasting bonds.
Known for her calm presence, intuitive communication, and thoughtfully structured training programs, Lexi is trusted by families, A-list celebrities, and Fortune 500 executives across the United States and Europe. She helps raise emotionally balanced, well-integrated dogs who thrive as part of the family. Many clients have remarked that their dogs' personalities blossomed under Lexi’s care. She sees dogs as individuals, with specific needs, sensitivities, and passions. It is this personalized, soulful approach that allows her to unlock their full potential.
Lexi was born and raised in New York City and now lives in Los Angeles with her husband Lewis and their bulldog Miles. She graduated from Davidson College in 1999 with a B.A. in Studio Art. Her calling revealed itself in an unexpected way when her first English Bulldog, Lyle, started skateboarding on the Venice Beach boardwalk. That serendipitous moment led to a training role with Natural Balance Pet Foods, where she worked alongside Tillman, the World’s Fastest Skateboarding Bulldog. Helping Lyle discover his passion to skateboard made Lexi realize hers. She was meant to work with dogs, help them grow, and bring out the best in them.
Lexi becomes more than a trainer. She becomes part of the family’s support system. Clients often say the most valuable part of what she brings is not just the noticeable improvement in behavior, but the sense of ease, structure, and deeper connection they experience with their dog after working with her. What she provides is what many describe as the greatest gift of all: a calm, manageable, well-adjusted dog who fits beautifully into home life.
Her work has been featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS, FOX, ESPN, Fuel TV, InStyle, People, and The Hollywood Reporter. She also starred in the Animal Planet and Hallmark Channel series Who Let the Dogs Out.
"What I love most is seeing dogs and their humans start to truly understand each other. Having a dog should feel fun and joyful, and I feel so lucky to help make that dream a reality. When that kind of connection happens, it brings a sense of peace and harmony that transforms everyday life".
